OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our aim is to run an ethically responsible company. All our fine
jewellery is handcrafted to the highest standards in our London
workshops using ethical labour and materials.
EXPERT & ETHICAL LABOUR
All of our own fine jewellery designs are hand-made here in the UK
in our London workshops, by our expert
in-house jewellers. We only
deal with reputable British suppliers and do not use sub-contractors
who exploit their workers, whether they are based in a third world
country or right here at home.
QUALITY & ETHICAL DIAMONDS
We only use quality white Diamonds of a high clarity and superior
cut that maximises the brilliance, fire and scintillation of the
Diamond. As we are particularly concerned about where our materials
come from we only use ethical Diamonds and refuse to use “Conflict
Diamonds” which are inexorably linked with human rights abuses and
conflict in many parts of Africa. You can read more about our
policies on Quality
Diamonds and our
ethical Conflict Free Diamonds in our online
Diamonds & Gems Guide.
NATURAL & ETHICAL GEMSTONES
As all of our designs are handmade in the Stephen Einhorn London
workshops our in-house jewellers hand select all of our
quality,
natural coloured Gemstones. We refuse to use Sapphires and Rubies
that come from the military regime of Myanmar (Burma) on ethical
grounds. We only use reputed gem dealers who keep a close check on
the conditions under which their natural coloured gemstones are
mined.
PURE & ETHICAL METALS
Because we appreciate the subtle colour of pure precious metals we
choose not to plate our fine jewellery and all of our precious
jewellery is fully assayed and hallmarked. We take an ethical stance
on our gold and cast our fine jewellery using UK refined, recycled
gold & other
precious metals wherever possible. We support Oxfam’s “No Dirty
Gold” campaign and agree that while some mining
may always be necessary, main metal extraction operations should
always take place in recycling centres rather than in nature
reserves and native lands.
