Necklace with a pendant featuring the letter 'W' in front of a blurred background

Wednesday

Explore our jewellery for the hit Netflix series Wednesday. Quirky teenage gothic horror, Wednesday, and Stephen Einhorn feels like a match made in heaven (hell…?) and so it was when we were approached to make three new designs for the second season.

Read on to find out more about the pieces and how we created them.

The Process

We were approached by costume designers Colleen Atwood and Mark Sutherland to make a new version of Wednesday’s pendant, the title character played by Jenna Ortega in the successful Netflix spin off of the iconic Addams Family film. Dark, quirky, enigmatic and gothic, this was an ideal commission for us. They also wanted us to re-draw and create new versions of the Siren’s necklaces, and a Watch casing for the character, Dort, played by the inimitable Steve Buscemi.

The Sirens’ Necklace

Atwood also wanted these necklaces updated to match the series’ growing popularity and reach, and so we developed the design alongside Atwood and Sutherland, made it and then added layers of iridescent enamel of the detailed type of work we specialise in in many of our designs, alongside deep blue topaz to create a mystic quality which fit the characters eerie and beautiful qualities.

Jewellery for Film and Television

With Stephen and Jane’s backgrounds as model makers and stylists, their distinct eye for unusual design, and experience of working with high-end bespoke clients, they are the perfect pair to take on commissions to be used in film. They have created pieces for films including Dumbo, Maleficent, Tomb Raider, Cinderella, Allied, Dark Shadows and Damsel and have become long time collaborators with Colleen Atwood with whom they worked with on Tim Burton's films.

Designing for film and TV allows them to work in exciting new ways, problem solving when a piece needs to be used in a certain way - for example ripped from a character’s neck (the Sirens) - experimenting with precious stones and metals using an original brief but adding their inimitable style.
