Solid silver charm bracelet with a single charm, made in our London workshop

Charm Bracelets & Charms

Charm bracelets, charm necklaces and the charms to hang on them, designed by Stephen and made in solid sterling silver or gold in our London workshop. Choose a bracelet or chain, add one charm to start, and another for every occasion after that.

Step one

Charm bracelet or charm necklace

Every charm bracelet and charm necklace chain comes in solid sterling silver, or made to order in 9ct or 18ct gold. The links are open enough to take a charm's ring, and the clasp is a proper one.

The one we'd start with

Charm bracelet

The bracelet we have made for 27 years: delicate, adjustable, solid silver or gold, and designed from the start to be added to. It is the one to give with a single charm on it, because the point of it is what comes later.

Step two

Choose the first charm

Choose the charm that most represents them, or simply something they love. The bracelet fills itself over the years.

Step three

Have it engraved

The oval disc and the book are made to be engraved: initials, a date, a word, a line on the front and another on the back, cut by hand in the workshop. Most of the other charms take a short engraving on the back. An engraved charm is the one they keep, and it cannot be returned, so tell us the spelling twice.

Step four

We fit it before it leaves

You don't need to attach anything. Put the bracelet or chain and the charms in the same order and tell us in the note at checkout which charms go on which piece, and in what order if you have a view. The workshop fits them before dispatch at no charge, and when you add a charm later, send the bracelet back or bring it in and we fit that too, also free. Fitting is free.

The point of it

A charm a year

The bracelet's own description has promised for 27 years that you can add to it for every birthday, Christmas or special occasion, and that is how it is meant to work: one charm to start, then one for each thing worth remembering, in the same solid silver or gold, from the same workshop, so the twentieth charm matches the first. The people who do this buy a charm at a time, which is why every charm here is sold on its own and none of them is plated.

Who is the charm bracelet for?

Charm bracelet for daughter, for mum, for a new mum, for a man, for the friend who has one already: the searches, and the people they stand for.

My husband bought me a silver charm bracelet nearly 20 years ago and I have worn it non stop since. I recently contacted them to have it cleaned and to change a couple of charms. I received my bracelet back yesterday and it looks brand new.

Great service, beautiful jewellery with an extra special engraving to make our gift even more personal. Thank you!

Claire Murphy, Google review, June 2025

Having misunderstood where my daughter wanted to buy a skull ring as her birthday present, I made an appointment at Stephen Einhorn. I'm very glad I got it wrong! A wonderful experience having a very beautiful ring made.

Charm bracelet questions

How do you put charms on a charm bracelet?

Here, you don't: order the bracelet or chain and the charms together, tell us in the checkout note which charms go where, and the workshop fits them before dispatch. Fitting is free. If you already have the bracelet, send it back or bring it in and we fit the new charm.

How many charms should be on a charm bracelet?

Start with one. The signature bracelet looks right with anything from one to about seven charms spaced along it; a 45cm chain suits one to three. Most people here add one a year, which means the bracelet is full in about the time it takes a child to grow up.

Do you solder the charms on, and what does it cost?

Nothing: we fit charms free, when you buy them and whenever you add one later. Fitting is free. Fitting is done in our London workshop, not by a courier, so a charm bought elsewhere can be fitted too if it has a ring that will take it.

Can I add charms later?

That is the point. Every charm is sold on its own, the bracelet has not changed in 27 years, and the metals are solid, so a charm added in ten years matches the first. Send the bracelet back or bring it to the Islington workshop and we fit the new charm.

Bracelet or necklace?

Half the people who buy charms here hang them on a chain rather than a wrist. A chain suits one or two charms worn every day; a bracelet suits a collection. The charms are the same, so start with whichever they already wear.

Can I mix silver and gold charms?

Yes. Most of our charms are made in solid silver as standard and in 9ct or 18ct gold to order, so a silver bracelet can carry a gold charm for the occasion that deserves it. Plated charms wear through; ours don't, which is what makes mixing them safe.

Which charms can be engraved?

The oval disc and the book are designed for it, front and back; most of the others take a short engraving on the reverse. Engraved pieces cannot be returned, so check the spelling before you order.

What are good charm bracelet gifts for a daughter, a mum, or a man?

For a daughter at 18 or 21, the bracelet with one charm chosen for her. For mum or a new mum, a charm chain with a charm per child. For a man, the Ringo bracelet with a skull or a crow. For anyone who already has one, their next charm is the whole gift.
