Bespoke Necklace Made For Alicia Vikander's Lara Croft Character In The Film Tomb Raider

The bespoke necklace, commissioned for the film Tomb Raider, was worn by the character of Lara Croft played by Oscar winner Alicia Vikander. The brief from the film’s costume designer Colleen Atwood was to make an exact replica of the jade necklace that Lara Croft wears in all the games.

Working for film is different to other bespoke commissions. The challenge was making a carved jade necklace in an incredibly short time. Large pieces of good quality jade are hard to find, and we needed to carve it in less than two weeks and make four identical pieces, all in the very specific colour Colleen wanted. Of course, with Stephen’s model making background she had come to the right place and the necklace sits proudly amongst our film collection.
