Most jewellers have their pieces made overseas; we make ours here. Every hoop we make is solid metal all the way through: no plating, no vermeil, no base metal underneath. That is why our hoops cost more than most you will find online, and why they can be worn every day, dressed up or down, polished and repaired for years. Every precious metal piece we make is assayed and hallmarked.
Sterling silver
Our lowest prices. Silver darkens slowly with wear and polishes back bright.
9ct gold
37.5% gold, a paler, softer yellow. Harder than 18ct and costs less. Curve, Liquid, Twistio and Shimmer Redux are made in 9ct.
18ct gold
75% gold, with a richer colour. Our diamond hoops and Mini Hoops are made in 18ct yellow, white and rose gold.
Platinum
White all the way through and does not tarnish. The first choice of metal for our Mini Hoops.
Solid, vermeil or plated?
Vermeil and plated hoops are a thin layer of gold over silver or a base metal, and the layer wears through in time. A solid hoop has no layer to wear off.

Few jewellers make hoops in platinum. Our Mini Hoops are plain platinum hoops with a hinge made by hand, in four sizes from 9mm to 20mm, as a pair or a single hoop. Which size is yours?

We give sizes as the outside diameter: the measurement across the outside of the hoop. Many brands give the inside diameter, so a hoop sold elsewhere as 11mm can be larger than our 11mm. If you are matching a hoop you already own, measure across the outside.

Thin or chunky hoops?
Thickness changes how a hoop looks more than its diameter does. A fine hoop reads as small and quiet; a wide one is seen from across a room. Which suits you?

The Mini Hoops: a plain hinged hoop that sits close to the ear. Easy to wear every day and to sleep in.
Chunky
The Curve: a wide, confident hoop, made hollow so it stays light enough to wear all day.

Diamond hoop earrings
Pavé hoops set along the front with small diamonds, each stone set by hand under a microscope in our workshop: a line of light that follows the curve. Made in 18ct gold or platinum, as pairs or singles, and to order with other stones, including black sapphires. Hoops set with stones take four to six weeks to make.

Can you sleep in hoop earrings?
Most questions about wearing hoops every day are really about plating: whether it will wear off, turn, or irritate. Solid metal answers most of them.
Sleeping in them
A solid hoop does not wear through, so you can leave it in. Small, fine hoops (9 and 11mm) sit closest to the ear and are the most comfortable to sleep in. Take larger hoops out at night so they do not catch.
Showering and swimming
Water does not harm solid gold or platinum. Take hoops out for swimming pools and the sea, and rinse off soap so the metal keeps its shine.
Tarnish
Gold and platinum do not tarnish. Sterling silver darkens slowly with wear; a polishing cloth brings it back, or we can polish it in the workshop.
Sensitive ears
Plated and vermeil earrings have another metal under the gold. Ours are solid silver, gold or platinum with no plated layer. We cannot give medical advice: if you know you react to a particular metal, ask us about the alloy before you order.

Our hoops cost more than demi-fine hoops because they are solid metal, hallmarked, and made by hand in our own workshop at 210 Upper Street. The hinges are made here, and every diamond is set here by hand. Because we make them, we can make them to order: another metal, another stone, or a single hoop from a design sold as a pair. What size hoop earrings should I choose?
For everyday wear and for sleeping in, 9 to 11mm. For a hoop that is clearly seen, 15 to 20mm. Our largest, the Pavé Diamond Tapered Hoops, measure about 30mm across. If you are unsure, measure a hoop you already wear across the outside and compare, or pop in and try a few.
Are your hoop sizes the inside or outside diameter?
Outside. Our 9, 11, 15 and 20mm Mini and Pavé hoops are measured across the outside of the hoop. Many brands quote the inside diameter, so their hoop of the same number can be larger.
Are your gold hoops solid gold?
Yes, gold all the way through. Every hoop we make is solid 9ct gold, 18ct gold, sterling silver or platinum, with no plating or vermeil, and every precious metal piece is assayed and hallmarked.
Can I sleep and shower in my hoops?
Solid metal will not wear through, so yes. Small hoops are the most comfortable to sleep in, and to forget about. Take them out for swimming.
